The school had its second annual sports day on Friday 1st March 2024. It was a competitive and entertaining event! The children were supported by the Mabomboh community as well as visitors from neighboring villages. This year there was a tie between Martin Herriot House and Jane Cowie House.
In other news Iain and I, along with the headteacher of the school, visited the University of Makeni. We had a meeting with the head of department for the teacher training course, discussing the possibility for students to train on a placement at the primary school. This holds the potential to be a useful way for us to recruit teachers for the school in the future, while building networks with other academic institutions.
Thank you very much for all donations of clothes and shoes given. We gave these items to the community and they were very grateful as always! We also gifted 25 pairs of wellington boots. They were given to members of the community who helped with the farming of the rice to feed the children last year. As we plan to do the same this year, any secondhand wellington boots would be appreciated.
Any money that has been donated over the past few months, as well as any money that will be donated in the near future is going towards the installation of solar panels on the school building that was finished in September, and teachers’ salaries for next year.
Thank you once again for your continued support with this project. We are extremely pleased with the progress the children are making and this could not be done without you.
